미국 아마존(Amazon ) 유럽시장 본격 진출… 프랑스 유통재벌 카지노(Casino) 와 전략적 제휴

아마존은 30일 유럽 최대 유통회사의 하나인 프랑스 카지노와 전략적 제휴 계약을 체결하고 유럽시장에 뛰어 들었다.
아마존가 카지노는 이날 공동으로 두 회사의 제휴 사실을 공식 발표했다. 이 발표에 따르면 아마존(Amazon)과 카지노의 식품사업부 격인 모노프릭스(Monoprix)는 서로 힘을 합해 프랑승 파리와 인근 지역에서 프라임 나우 서비스(Prime Now service)를 공동으로 시작한다는 것이다. 프라임 나우란 온라인으로 주문받은 상품을 1시간 이내에 배송하는 초고속 서비스이다. 아마존과 카지노는 특히 채소와 과일 등 신선도를 요구하는 품목에서배송 속도를 획기적으로 줄여 유통혁명을 이루기로 했다.

아마존과 카지노는 이와 함께 소비자가 오프라인과 온라인, 모바일 등 다양한 경로를 통해 상품을 검색, 구매할 수 있게 하는 옴니 채널구축에서도 힘을 모아가기로 했다.

아마존은 미국의 워싱턴 주 시애틀에 본사를 두고 있는 국제적 온라인 판매 회사이다. 세계 최대의 온라인 쇼핑 중개상이다. 영어로는 Amazon.com, Inc.로 부른다.

1994년 7월 6일 제프 베조스가 창업했다. 처음에는 온라인 서점이었으나 1997년부터 VHS, DVD, 음악 CD, MP3, 컴퓨터 소프트웨어, 비디오 게임, 전자 제품, 옷, 가구, 음식, 장난감 등으로 제품 라인을 다양화 해오고 있다.


전자책 단말기인 킨들과 킨들 파이어 태블릿 컴퓨터를 제작하여 보급하고 있기도 하다.

아마존은 미국 이외에도 캐나다에서 amazon.ca, 영국에서 amazon.co.uk, 독일에서 amazon.de, 오스트리아에서 amazon.a 프랑스에서 amazon.fr, 중국에서 amazon.cn, 일본에서 amazon.co.jp, 이탈리아에서 amazon.it, 인도에서 amazon.in, 스페인에서 amazon.es, 브라질에서 amazon.com.br 그리고 멕시코에서 amazon.com.mx 등의 국가에서 별도로 개설해놓고 있다.

Amazon and Monoprix join forces to innovate on behalf of Prime Now customers

Amazon and Monoprix today announced they are joining forces to bring grocery items sourced from Monoprix to Prime Now service customers in Paris and its neighborhood this year. Grocery items sourced from Monoprix will be available in the Prime Now app and web site through a dedicated virtual store.

More than a banner, Monoprix is a brand with a unique positioning, notably providing a wide and innovative grocery offering, that is gourmet and creative. Thanks to this collaboration Amazon Prime Now customers will be able to access thousands of grocery items sourced from Monoprix: store brand (including Monoprix, Monoprix Gourmet, Monoprix Bio, La Beauté Monoprix), fresh products, exclusivities, etc.

All Prime members can immediately download the Prime Now app, available on iOS and Android devices, or visit www.primenow.fr to find eligible delivery postcodes, place orders and track the status of their delivery in real time or request notification when the service is available in their area.
